Hi everyone, it has been a while since I sent out a newsletter but there have been a few things going on here that I wanted to tell you. We have been dealing with strangles on our farm for the last few weeks and it has been quite an ordeal. Because of the contagious nature of strangles we have quarantined the farm to incoming horses. That means I will not be bringing horses in for training to our farm here in Merritt. Instead I will be moving my training business to Vancouver Island for the next few months. I will be working out of Bonita Stables in Sydney. I will have very limited space to bring horses in to ride but I will be more accessible to those of you on the Island for farm visits and lessons at Bonita. My clinic schedule should at this point continue as planned. I won't be traveling with my own horses for most of the summer to ensure the strangles that is at my farm does not get to your farm from a horse of mine. Otherwise it is business as usual. I am still at Copper Moon Ranch on a monthly basis. The sessions there are private with a clinic planned for Labour day weekend. For those of you that have been to Copper Moon before for one of my clinics it is usually a lot of fun. Walter and Mary-Anne provide a wonderful atmosphere complete with a cantina serving food and beverages. If you would like to book a private lesson at Copper Moon I am usually there the third weekend of each month. Call Walter Matos at 604 856-2071 and he can set you up with a time. There are no auditors at the private monthly sessions for those of you that are apprehensive of learning in public.

I have also been going to Twin Creeks Farm in Duncan on a regular basis. Anyone interested in a lesson please Contact Deb Flinn 250 746-8769. I will also be doing a clinic there in June that will focus on green or unstarted horses.

I will be at the Childrens Wish Ride at Campbell Valley Park in Langley on May 27th. I would invite everyone to come out and support the Children's Wish Foundation. I have upcoming clinics in Quesnel, Kelowna, Courtney and Campbell River.

I will also be on Salt Spring Island, and Qualicum for clinics later in the summer. I will be back at the Maple Ridge fair for the fifth year in July. In Sept I will be back at the Port Alberni fair for the third year, as well as the Pemberton Equifest for the third year.
